Mama life is a new journey for me and I can't wait to take you along for the ride and go through it together.
Growing up, I was blessed (and am still blessed) to have parents who always told me to follow my dreams. If I wanted to write books, I could write books. If I believed I could do something, they would empower me and support me through each and every endeavor.
As I’ve become a young adult, I see how important following your dreams can be. I’ve seen so many people walk through life like zombies. It’s as if they’re simply going through the motions. But in reality, they fail to recognize the value in each day. I’ve caught myself doing that before, too. I have to finish my classes, get my homework done, shower, etc.
What I think keeps me going is the idea that I am following my dream. In high school, I didn’t have it easy. Well, let’s just say since I was 10 I haven’t had it easy. Friends never came easily for me, and they still don’t. I’ve searched within my heart to find out why that is, but have never quite pinpointed it. I was always that girl that stood out because I was always chasing after my dreams. I was a dream catcher. If I wanted to work at a store and gain retail experience, I did it. If I wanted to make money so I could buy myself my first designer bag, you best believe I did it. No one quite believed in the power of my dreams, but I did.
There’s something so magical about sitting down and figuring out what your dreams are. Figure out your dreams and chase them. My dream was always to be involved in fashion and be able to inspire people. I’ve been doing that now for two years. While it gets tough sometimes and I lose hope, I remind myself that I am one of the lucky ones who has realized my dream and is going after it at full speed.
A life well-lived is a life where you tried everything you could to reach your dreams. No dream is too big enough. No dream is too scary. The only thing stopping you from chasing after what you really want is yourself.
So, what is your dream?
As a symbol of following your dreams, wear this necklace. Layer it with other dainty jewels or have it stand out on its own. Every time you feel it, you will remind yourself that there is no time left to waste – get chasing!
I hope to be accomplishing some dreams for TFD soon, starting with a new blog design, which will allow me to start sharing more personal content as well as travel. There are so many things to dream of in this world and if you don’t follow your heart, what are you really living for?

Love this post! I think it’s so important to follow your dreams. I found a quote that said “chop your own wood and it will warm you twice” and that’s actually one of my dreams! I would love to someday start my own business or maybe build my own house or something. I just love big life projects and I love being my own boss of whatever my dreams are!
I absolutely love that. I shared it with my mom and she loves it too! What a great quote!
Hello Lauren. Beautiful article. I noticed that you mentioned is hard to make friends but hey, you can join a yoga class or an activity of interest where you can meet people with the same passions. Would love to invite you to Vous Church on Sunday. I am sure you can find many friends there 🙂 and they also have crews during the week. Keep following your dreams. xo
Hi! I’ve heard that’s a great church. I know, I need to get more involved… maybe I’ll go one Sunday! I would love to.
I’m all about trying to follow my dream(s) even if I have to walk through life like a zombie for a little while as I work to get here 😉

It’s such a great necklace… one of my new favorites!
I’ve never been very good at making friends either (so I can really relate to your struggle) but I am also very ambitious. You look gorgeous here girl and I loved you sharing your perspective on the importance of following your dreams!
It’s so hard for me. It’s crazy how blogging has brought so many people together, though, right? I’m hoping to share more personal things on my blog… one of my 2016 goals!
Lauren I absolutely loved this post!! There’s no better message than to follow your dreams and your passion! Really loved reading your thoughts! And of course, I love the look! Such a cute dress!!

What a great post! I can have a really hard time making friends because they all seem intimidated by my drive, but I found the ones that aren’t are the best people to have around! You find friends that love you and your dreams!
xoxo
I completely agree. And if you can’t find friends that love you and your dreams, keep looking for the right ones! It’s better than staying around negative energy!

I would agree with you, but some people’s dreams (like mine) require you to have money. Which I don’t have and won’t earn even if I did get a job 😛
But hey, you’re not alone in the friends thing. I’m right there with you, except I know why. Trust is a biggie on this one. Letting go of the “what will he/she think if I tell her about this or do that?” is very difficult.

Beautiful post! I feel the same way. I’ve always been the girl who followed her dreams, whether that was starting a blog or moving to NYC for a summer to intern. Now, I’m trying to figure out what’s next, but I’m excited for whatever it is. Good luck to you! Also, such a pretty and feminine outfit!
