On our last day in Charleston, my parents and I went to go visit the Magnolia Plantation. It was absolutely beautiful! Despite it feeling like 100 degrees and there being extreme humidity, it was nice to be able to see so much history in one place.
I wore my favorite navy striped skirt because it was easy, light and appropriate to visit such a beautiful place. This navy striped skirt has been a go-to of mine lately and matches with everything from a chambray top, a white tank, tee, anything. I also love that, while it’s still high-waisted, the length is great. I paired it with my white tank that I own in about five colors for a look that was easy and good for the heat. But don’t let that fool you. While shooting this outfit I was so miserably hot! We had to leave Charleston early because of the heat and I’m honestly so happy to be back home.
Now, onto the hat… This floppy hat is my favorite because it actually fits me (I have a big head!) and is a really pretty color. Not to mention, it’s a great price and will work well for the fall and winter months. Add some dainty jewels (like my new favorite long necklace that I wear everyday) and this is a great outfit for any occasion! I definitely recommend this striped skirt and breezy tank if you’re looking for easy-to-wear, comfortable pieces.
Happy Friday and thanks so much for reading!

Oh I just love Magnolia Plantstion! I haven’t been in a few years but it’s absolutely breathtaking each time you see it! I also really love navy and white strips, it’s just so classic, clean and really goes with everything. I’m wearing a navy with fine white stripe polo shirt at work today actually!

I love that skirt, it looks really versatile. If I could describe my current wardrobe it would be navy & stripes, so I obviously need this skirt! I love the backdrop to your photos, it’s beautiful!

Love this outfit! The color combo of navy and white has shown up a lot in my summer wardrobe — very classic yet chic!
Charleston is so beautiful. This skirt is perfect. I have a similar skirt and need to style it like this. I love the hat!

I sooo want to visit Charleston! Your photographs are beautiful. I struggle to find skirts that look flattering on me so I tend to avoid wearing them (even when it’s super hot! Well, ‘hot’ for England…) but this one looks lovely 🙂
I love that skirt! Its so cute! I also really love that bag. I’m going to have to surge on one!

I’ve never been to Charleston so I’ve never been to Magnolia Plantation…but it’s gorgeous! Those trees are amazing–we don’t have anything like that where I live. Sugar maples are all good, but these are just so cool!
Love the outfit as well. There is something so nice about high-waisted skirts that aren’t too short. And I understand your big-head hat woes completely!

I LOVE your dainty gold layered necklaces! That geometric triangular one is great. And as usual, loving the Tory.
