Mama life is a new journey for me and I can't wait to take you along for the ride and go through it together.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I attended the #HerConference this past weekend in the city. It was such a great experience and getting to meet some inspiring individuals definitely made it even better! Speakers included Rebecca Minkoff, Andi Dorfman (obsessed), Nastia Liukin and more. There were panels with social media experts from companies like Cosmo and Victoria’s Secret and it was honestly amazing. It’s crazy how you could be an influencer for a few years and still have SO much left to learn! See below for a few photos/recap from the fun-filled weekend. We got really cute notebooks to write in throughout the weekend. Each line had something related to one of the keynote speakers. My favorite? Persevere like Andi. I’ll explain why a few lines down! I still think it’s so funny how I’m considered “press.” It always makes me feel professional…haha! The first day started out with Rebecca Minkoff speaking. I am obsessed with her! She’s so down to earth and cool. She’s the type of person you want to be friends with. I loved hearing about how her parents would make her work for everything she wanted. She also spoke a lot about failures and that it’s okay to fail and to get things wrong – everyone does. There was a really cool Ulta Beauty Bar installment at the conference where they would do hair and makeup touchups. I got a little makeup touchup on Saturday and hair/makeup touchup on Sunday! It was such a fun and cute idea, especially being that some of us (including me) looked dead after hours of activities and learning! Another shot of the notebook… love it! This wall was made up of thousands of roses and was sponsored by Tinder. I thought it was such a cute idea! Okay, wow. I look terrifying here. But I’m obsessed with her, so it’s okay. Andi’s speech was surprisingly amazing. Not that I thought it was going to be bad, but it just far exceeded my expectations. I didn’t know all of the tribulations she’s gone through, especially since become a reality TV star. She spoke about perseverance, which I love. She spoke about finding happiness within yourself. Happiness is what you FEEL. She also spoke about never giving up. If you’re feeling bad, keep going. And that in order to persevere, you really need to fully understand what your happiness is and what makes you happy. Another thing I loved that she spoke about was relationships and how you don’t have to be in one to be happy. Sure, they’re great and it’s great to have someone… but it’s not okay to rush it or to be in a miserable relationship. She really is amazing. I can’t wait to read her book… I have to pick it up! On Sunday, I got a hair and makeup touchup at the Ulta Beauty Bar and was ready to go! This was a great conference and it was so refreshing to be surrounded by so many like-minded and driven individuals.
