Mama life is a new journey for me and I can't wait to take you along for the ride and go through it together.
Today’s the day. I’m officially going back home to Miami. If you would have asked me a year ago if I would ever consider moving back to Miami, my answer would be absolutely not. Well, fast forward to today and I’m probably just as shocked as anyone else is about this decision. (Read my post about leaving Miami here).
Deciding to move back to Miami was a difficult one. I didn’t not like NYC. I didn’t hate my life here. There were just so many signs throughout my (almost) year living here where I realized that I didn’t belong here. Yes, I loved the social life and being able to get anywhere at any time and there would always be people. But there was so much that I didn’t like. For example, how expensive my apartment rent was. How TFD was suffering because I didn’t have the time I needed in order to dedicate myself entirely to it. I hated how much I hated the subways and how packed the bus would be getting to work in the morning (talk about invasion of personal space).
Today won’t be a huge post about why I’m leaving NYC, as I will be doing a video on that to really get personal with you guys on my entire experience, what went wrong, what went right and everything in between. Today is just a post celebrating that I’m coming home. I’m going back to where I was born and raised. To a place where my family is, where I can watch my nephew grow and drive to Nordstrom at Merrick Park whenever I want. A place where I can focus 100% of my efforts on The Fashionista’s Diary and my online store, Aria Rose, coming soon.
It wasn’t an easy decision and I’m still anxious at the thought of leaving the city I couldn’t wait to live in. Is it the right decision? Probably. Is it a difficult decision? Absolutely. But, watching my best friends leave this city one by one kind of validated the fact that it was time for me to go, too. I’ll be working on the video either this week or next but for now I just want to thank you for following along as I grew up, made mistakes and learned while living in NYC.
I am so happy that I will be taking on The Fashionista’s Diary full time and can’t wait for what’s to come.
NYC – I will miss you more than you know. It’s not goodbye, yet see you soon.

congrats on being full time. sometimes things happen for a reason.
Good for you girl! I lived in NYC for a summer and loved it. But it’s not a place I would ever live permanently. Sometimes, I just needed to get in my own car and breathe. Best of luck!
