Mama life is a new journey for me and I can't wait to take you along for the ride and go through it together.
Happy Monday! It’s been a crazy weekend filled with lots of rain. I was supposed to shoot on Saturday with my photographer (my dad is my main photographer, but I also shoot with Akamie), but it ended up pouring so I didn’t even leave my house! Then yesterday, my dad and I were able to get in three outfits in before it started raining again. That’s Miami summer for you!
I wore this outfit (except with the white-colored blouse instead of nude) to attend a meeting on Thursday and got a lot of comments on the pants, so I decided to do a post! I recently picked up these pants and, for only $38, they are so great! I’m wearing a size small and they’re perfect (for reference, I’m a size 27 in jeans). I needed a nice pair of black pants that I could pair with different tops for blog meetings, work and everyday. I’m even considering getting a second pair just so I have a backup pair in case anything happens to these! These are great for casual workwear, too.
Since I love nude and black combined, I wore this nude blouse that I have in about… 6 colors now. It really is the best! It can be dressed up or down and is great for the workplace with a cardigan or blazer thrown over it. And it’s under $30!
Oh, and have you noticed my new shoes?! These are my latest obsession! I have flat feet so if a sandal has a little heel, it really helps out with any back or foot pain. I love the gold detailing and how comfortable these are. I’m going to have them on repeat and, knowing me, I’ll be getting them in black too! These are also a great pair of shoes for the workplace because they’re classic, appropriate and comfortable if you have to stand up for a while. They also look adorable with boyfriend jeans or shorts!
How do you like to dress up for work? Do you work in a more business-casual environment or a more dressed-up workplace? I would love to hear!
Thanks so much for reading and have a great Monday! PS. Thanks so much to everyone who has asked me questions for the Q&A I will be posting this week on the blog. I posted on Instagram and Facebook, but if you have any questions at all that you’d like me to answer, blog-related or not, email me or write them in the comments below! Also… I’m really excited to be doing a couple of lifestyle posts this week. XO

This is so chic, I can’t really tell that it’s more casual by the way you’ve styled it!
I wish it had rained in WI, it’s so hot up here (for us Northerners at least!)

If I could wear something like this to work (law office) I totally would! Pulled together, chic and comfortable! I have a few fussy things in my wardrobe that I need to get rid of because I never wear them. We have to be business casual (more business) but that doesn’t mean uncomfortable!

The dress code for my workplace is casual. I’ve come to work in a graphic t-shirt and jeans. I do dress up for meetings, events, and when there are people touring my workplace.
Such a cute outfit — I am pretty obsessed with the shirt tbh.
Those pants actually look so comfy as well.

I love this! You look so chic yet comfortable. I wish I could get away with that in my job! I am supposed to be on the dressy side- but you look fab!
Love this comfy combo! I never quite know how to wear my pair of slouchy pants to work, but this gives me a lot of ideas! I work in a business-casual office, but I wear a lot of dresses because it gives me less to think about in the morning.

The pants look so stylish and comfortable, I might just need a pair for work too!
I love your necklace. Could you do a post just on your favorite jewelry? I always love yours!
I could wear this to SO many things–I really need this in my closet!
So excited for your Q&A post! I love this look! I picked up a similar pair of pants from Ann Taylor, and I plan on sneaking them into my casual Friday looks 😉

I am really hoping that once I graduate from grad school and get a job that I will be have at least casual Fridays!! Then I could wear outfits like this!
I am so excited for your Q&A post and your lifestyle posts! I can’t wait to see what’s to come. And I love these shoes with that top (and the nail polish color!)- so feminine and pretty!

Those sweet little sandals are to die for. Seriously, they look causal enough to dress down for a night out, but are clearly cute and classy enough to wear to work!
I feel like the weather has been overall crazy everywhere! We had so much rain a couple weeks ago, and now it’s just deathly hot! Too hot. I’m loving your blush top, and I can totally see why those shoes are your new favorite. They’re adorable!
This outfit is just perfection. Can I just come live with you so we can share clothes already?!

These pants are amazing for work! I’ve been wearing a ton of dresses and skirts to the office lately, but I should look into these and mix things up a little. Love the relaxed fit!

I was actually looking at getting a pair of pants like that when I was at Forever21 yesterday. I think you’ve convinced me to go back and buy them!

I think I need those pants in my life. I just almost bart a very similar pair at Banana in an olive green a few days ago but last minute decided not to, biggest regret. These came at the perfect time and they are a great price!!

I love this outfit so much. I especially adore the pants, they look so comfortable but also put together at the same time. I also love the fact that your dad is your main photographer, because my dad takes basically all of my outfit photos too!
This look is so classy!! I love it all: the tank, the layered necklaces, and the pants. You have such a good eye for fashion.
I absolutely LOVE harem pants! Your work wear is so gorgeous – with such a classy flair! 🙂
This is so cute and simple, yet chic! I especially like those pants on you. I’m always afraid to wear them myself since I carry my weight in my hips, but you’re totally rocking them!
